I was hired by tech startup marketing agency Oh Blimey to build a bespoke WordPress website for Boston-based consulting firm The Re-Wired Group. CEO of The Re-Wired Group, Bob Moesta, is one of the key figures credited with developing and popularising the Jobs to be Done (JTBD) framework.
Using the JTBD framework, The Re-wired Group uncover insights that drive product innovation, enhance customer experiences, and ultimately help businesses create solutions that address the jobs their customers are trying to get done. Through their expertise in JTBD research and strategy, the Re-Wired Group assists companies like Basecamp, Nike and Intercom in gaining a deep understanding of their customers, and aligning their offerings to better meet their needs.
Oh Blimey specialises in no-nonsense, early-stage startup marketing for tech businesses and is headed up by Lucy Heskins. Lucy writes about her experience and has been featured on Tech Crunch, Everyone Hates Marketers and more. You might find her speaking at a conference, showing up on a podcast or presenting at a startup accelerator.
Amy is my go-to person when launching my clients’ websites using WordPress. She takes the time to really listen, she’s great to work with, and always delivers to a great standard. She makes my job easier!

For this project, Lucy brought together a distributed team from the UK, Europe and North America, including myself, designer Matt Sullivan, and an SEO and copywriter.
Matt and I worked collaboratively throughout, with regular design reviews as the build progressed. Matt took a modular approach to the design, creating a set of reusable content blocks which I used to build the custom Gutenberg blocks that this website is comprised of.
Gutenberg is a powerful block editor introduced in WordPress version 5.0. It provides a more intuitive and flexible visual editing experience for users. With Gutenberg, users can build rich and dynamic web pages using blocks, which are individual content elements like paragraphs, headings, images, and more. The block-based approach allows for easy customisation and arrangement of content, making it simpler to create visually appealing and engaging layouts.
For the Re-Wired Group website, we built a series of bespoke blocks which could be used within the theme’s templates to build out new pages.
Not only is Amy a skilled developer, but she is also reliable, responsive and thorough in providing hosting and support. If ever we have a question or an issue, she is quick with a solution. She makes it very easy on us, taking care of the website so we don’t have to worry.
